Occupational Safety and Health Audits-16 Sites

Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital (GCH), is a non-profit Children’s Hospital established in 1947. Being the most established pediatric hospital in Eastern and Central Africa, the hospital provides healthcare to children in Kenya as well as those referred from neighbouring countries. The hospital attends to over 300,000 outpatients annually through a network of 15 facilities in and around Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado and Mombasa Counties www.gerties.org

ECOTESCO was retained by Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital to carry out Occupational Safety and Health Audits for its main facility in Muthaiga as well as the 15 satellite branches in the country. The scope of the audit included the inspection of the respective facilities (Wards, Theatres, Laboratories, Patient Resting areas, washrooms, Offices, Kitchen, Housekeeping & Laundry, Farewell Home, Warehouse, Server rooms, workshop/ maintenance, construction sites, Emergency Rooms, Radiology department etc). The culmination of the audit exercises was the facilitation of the Workplace Registration Certificate from the Ministry of Labour for each of the 16 facilities. Our experts also worked hand in hand with management to develop a detailed Safety and Health Monitoring Plan for the entire organization.
